How Do I Request Changes To My Website?

If you’d like to request that we make changes and edits to your website, you can simply send us a Word document or a single email in a task (or instructional) format, usually with bulletpoints. A round of edits can also include comments and notes in Invision and/or Markup at the same time you submit your other edits. Requests you submit at different times may constitute another round of edits and could incur further charges.

Here are the options for submitting your edits:

  1. Simply type out your instructions to us and submit to support@directallied.com in a MS Word document or Google Drive document. 
  2. Option 2 is to just start a fresh email addressed to our support department with an appropriate subject title, like “Round 1 Edits.”
  3. If you received a design from us for approval, click the link in your email to the design in Invision or Markup, switch to comment mode, and click where you’d like to make a change or add text and images, and clearly state your instructions. 

Next, you can begin adding tasks for us to complete. Please reference the appropriate section of the website (Page) or design when requesting edits. Here are some examples:

  • Please change the blue background in the About Us section on Home page to red.
  • Use the image with the file name “abcd1234.jpg” in the Services section.
  • Move the logo (in header /In footer) to the left side of the website instead of the right side.

DO NOT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN YOUR EDITS:

  • Questions
  • Ideas
  • Opinions
  • Do not reference other documents or emails, simply be clear with your task
  • Choices or decisions for us to make

These types of things can be submitted in a separate email to our Support Department. We prefer email over text messages or phone calls / voicemails to ensure proper documentation for future reference.

Some examples of how to submit content / text edits to the website:

Example 1 – Use on the main Services Page:

“Our Professional Services

When it comes to professional services, our company provides the best services backed with years of experience. We’re different from the other companies that provide these services because we use all natural ingredients sourced from organic farms across the country.

Service 1
This service we provide to small businesses who are in need of the most modern services like this one that we offer. There is no better place to get this service.
Learn More About This Service Here”

Example 2 – In the middle section of the About Us page, use this text instead:

“Our company boasts 15 years of service in the City area with an unblemished record or excellence in the services we provide. We started in 1972 in our garage and quickly built the best products to fill the needs of our customers.”

IMAGES & VIDEOS

DO NOT SEND IMAGES/VIDEOS VIA TEXT MESSAGE.

You can attach the image/video files in an email (support@directallied.com), or copy/paste a link to your video or image in your instructions. You must always include where you would like us to put that image/video. This can also be a link to a Facebook post or another place where your image or video is located online in a DOWNLOADABLE format. Keep in mind we cannot download content from some websites like YouTube, so we will need the original files in these situations.

You can send us access to any cloud storage or sharing accounts you use, such as Dropbox or Google Drive. You will need to reference the file name of the video or image and tell us where to put that image on your website.

You MUST provide the image/video file, OR an image or video link because we need a way to reference which image/video file goes where. Again, here is an example:
“Please use image file “abcd1234.jpg” on the Service Page, third section.”
OR
“Please use {IMAGE LINK} on the Service Page, third section.”
